Darlene of Darlene’s Days Boo’ed me today!! How fun!
Now this is going to be fun!! Here is how the Blogging Boo will go. Go to as many friends as you want and tell them they’ve been “Boo-ED”. Have them link back to your blog to pick up their Halloween Treat (picture) and tell them to Boo their friends. (Then put the pic in your side bar so everyone knows that you’ve already been Boo-ed and to send the pic to someone else.
Are you scared yet!!??
I made a trip to the Dollar Tree.. amazing, ME?? At the Dollar Tree? Or as we call it, The 20 Dollar Tree!! Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever spent under 20 dollars there. There’s always some school supply or gadget that I need.. or a decorating idea.. that I NEED!!
So, I was there.. and I saw THESE
I found this at the thrift shop on base yesterday.. it’s marked 4.99.. I got it for 2.49!! Whoo hoo!! I’ve been looking for something like this for my bedroom for Hubs’ stuff! It’s definitely getting some spray paint today- along with the stars! I’m hoping that it warms up a bit so the paint will dry!!
How’s your Tuesay???
Well.. Marie over at Watch the Wind Blow By gave me this award.. it means a lot to me because she is one of my first bloggy friends.. and her’s is probably one of my Most Checked blogs! Thanks so much Marie.. I love it~!!
She gave it out to some of her oldies but goodies.. I think I’ll do the same! So here ya go!
1. Tiff at Folded Gingham.. she has a WONDERFUL blog, but has been going through some hard times.. but I’m still Hooked on her Blog! I think she has one of the first blogs I ever followed!
2. Kelli at There’s No Place Like Home.. I’m sure that ALL of you have run across her blog at one time or another.. it feels like you are going over to your favorite Aunt’s house when you go to read about what she’s been up to!
3. Jennifer at The Peterson’s Go Public.. Well.. there really isn’t anything I don’t LOVE about Jennifer! She’s sooooo fun! And her taste in Music is to die for! Sometimes I leave her blog open just to listen to her playlist!!
4. Gina at Gina’s Public Diary.. well, she’s one of my oldest bloggin buddies. I visit her allll of the time!
And Marie.. I’m giving it right back to ya girlie!!!
went to Homecoming!! Yep, I’m officially feeling old this week~ He went to the dance, and even had a date! She’s the one on the right in the pink and black.. so cute! Of course, I never got a picture of them together.. she had to go and set up at the dance, so he met her there~
This is the boys.. all gussied up!
Here’s the coursage that I made for Jojo’s date.. I couldn’t find anyone in town that didn’t charge $35-$40.00!! And they were pretty skimpy.. so I made this one.. $14.00!!!
So.. that’s pretty much what our weekend involved.. just working on homecoming! Saturday and Yesterday we watched “Band of Brothers” on the History channel. My husband and I have seen all of the episodes before, but they are sooo good! I also made some Amish Friendship Bread this morning out of the starter that a neighbor gave me 10 days ago. I used Pumpkin Spice pudding. My house smells FANTASTIC!! I stuck a couple of starter’s away in the freezer for the holidays.. just gotta find some more Pumpkin Spice Pudding!!!
Happy Monday everyone!!!
I stink at keeping on track.. remember that ADD that I have self-diagnosed. Well, I have 3 (yes 3) unfinished posts here.. and they are just gonna have to wait. I’m just not in the mood to finish them.. Don’t worry, they aren’t full of great recipes, or neat pictures.. they are just excuses not to sit my butt down to write! Pretty much.. I’ve just been lazy! I do have one excuse~ My kids and the Hubs were home for 5 days! Yep! So, I didn’t get a lot of time to use the computer.
*Edited to add… Today is now FRIDAY~!! Where did my week go??? I haven’t had time to stalk my favorite blogs much, or even get my own blog updated! I promise to try to be better!!!*
So.. what have I been up to? Well, I did get my Halloween stuff out. I’m happy with most of it.. not happy with some of it. Mostly, my cute little Halloween Village. First I gathered my supplies.. some VCR tapes for height! Who says that VCR tapes are outdated? They make great risers!!
(sorry for the blurry image)
I usually put the village on my sewing table.. but I changed my mind this year…
I decided to put it ontop of the big black entertainment armoire… It just looks so bare! I don’t know what else to put up there.. It lights up at night, but you can’t tell in this picture.
Here’s a closeup of my favorite..
I’ve been doing a little bit more decorating too..
My cute pumpkin’s on top of my china cabinet.. Remember? They were just turned around to the backside for “fall.” I will turn them back around after Halloween..
What a cute witch.. she hangs on the Hoosier!
Skull under glass anyone?? Or how about EVERYONE!! So cute I had to do it too!!
He sits next to my Halloween tree that I’ve had for years.. and a cylander of bones ala Dollar Tree!!
I’ve had a few requests for the Biscotti Recipe.. I’m happy to oblige, its so easy, and very yummy!
Cake Mix Biscotti
1 box (18.25 ounce size) Cake Mix. Now, get creative.. I’ve used Lemon, Orange Supreme, Devil’s Food, Vanilla (especially good as a base.. I’ve put a package of butterscotch instant pudding in there.. or pistachio)
1 cup flour
Chocolate chips, Butterscotch, Peanut Butter, White Chocolate.. whatever.. melt them in the microwave in a baggie.. this is to drizzle on top of the cooled biscotti.. I guess around 1/2 cup.
Arrange slices cut-side down on both baking sheets. Bake 15 minutes, reduce oven heat to 200 degrees and bake an additional 20 to 30 minutes, or until biscotti are dry. Let cool completely. (They will harden more as they cool.)
Then melt your chips if you are using them.. snip off the end, then drizzle over the biscotti. Keep in an airtight container. These will be okay for a couple of weeks.. if they last that long!
I’m going to make some Black Forest ones today.. Chocolate Fudge with dried cherries.. YUM!!!! If you come up with any yummy combo’s leave me a message.. We LOVE this cookie.. and I like to make a variety of flavors for Christmas giving!
That poor tree.. the wind has broken a branch..
And can you see the fog???
Its almost 10:00am and the fog is still thick~!
When it’s like this outside, I just want to stay inside and do this:
here’s the finished product:
Hot Cocoa and a Biscotti anyone???
Anywhooooo.. I also did some stitching last weekend.. I was bored, the boys were playing PS3 all weekend.. what can I say? Here’s what I actually finished!
I haven’t decided where I’m going to put it yet!
and this one.. it’s already found a spot on the Hoosier for now..
It’s here next to this cute Hen I found at Rite Aid for 5.00!!
Sorry its so dark.. I even have lights on in my house! The winter darkness really gets to me up here! I walk around in the morning turning on lamps that stay on most of the day.
Here’s the last one I did for Halloween.. cute!!
Its hard to get a good picture to see the white thread on the candy corn.. but I really like how it turned out!
I also re-arranged the dining room/eating part of the kitchen. I like the furniture placement, but I need to figure out what to put in that corner.. my old rocker is there now, but I’ve bumped into it about 25 times since Sunday! I want to make a huge chalkboard to hang on the wall by the dreaded sliding glass door. It just looks so plain in there.. I like a little clutter, so plain isn’t good!!
Here’s the other side of the room where the cabinet used to be.. the Hoosier is there now.
See.. that wall goes right into the living room, and that window, it’s 12 FEET wide!! I’d love to do a mistreatment in there, but I’m not buying anything else for those windows since we are moving in less than a year!
So.. that’s what I’ve been up to. If you have ANY suggestions for the dining area.. leave me a comment.. please, you know I LIVE for fun comments!!!
Happy Hump Day~~!!!
